New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat caused a stir on social media over the weekend following his comments after his team's big 4-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Following his two-assist performance, which helped the Islanders keep pace in the Eastern Conference wild card race, Horvat said that playing in New York is a lot better than Vancouver.
"It's a lot better than Vancouver, I'll tell you that for free." Horvat said.
On Monday, Horvat walked back those comments slightly and further elaborated on what he meant, adding that he didn't mean any disrespect to the Canucks or their fan base.
"I obviously wasn't expecting that. It was kind of a heat of the moment thing. I didn't mean any disrespect to the fans of Vancouver or my teammates or city of Vancouver at all. It wasn't directed at them at all." Horvat explained.

For Canucks fans, it's certainly understandable to be upset and disappointed with what Horvat said, especially after all the years he spent there, including as captain. But from Horvat's perspective, he's coming off a massive win where he helped his team by picking up a pair of assists and it's clear his emotions got the best of him as he was being interviewed in front of a sold out crown on home ice.
