Beer League player snaps and throws the puck pail at the referee
Why do some players in beer leagues/organized pick-up games lose their composure? With social media, in arena cameras and cell phone cameras, it's become easier for people to capture these players having meltdowns during what should be a fun game.
Recently, a video surfaced of a player throwing a bucket of pucks onto the ice after being ejected from a game. It's not worth losing sleep over a blown call or any other issue that might have caused the outburst. It's also unacceptable to throw objects at officials, especially when they're not expecting it. Referees make mistakes, but they're only human.
Although it's common for players to disagree with referees at any level of hockey, the level of hostility shown by some players towards officials is excessive.
Regardless of what the player may have been arguing about, it's important to remember that the game should be enjoyed with good sportsmanship. You can clearly tell by his team's reaction they were less than impressed.
