Detroit Red Wings prospect Theodor Niederbach was ejected from MoDo's 4-3 loss to Södertälje for an ugly and dangerous hit.

Niederbach - drafted #51, 2020 - plastered Södertälje forward Linus Videll, who needed to be carted off on a stretcher afterwards. The 20-year old winger has been reported to the league's disciplinary panel and is pending a review.

Since being drafted, Niederbach's production has fallen off of a cliff. In his draft-year, Niederbach scored 48 points in 40 games for Vastra Frolunda of Sweden's Junior league. In his D+1 season, he scored 35 in 19, making it look like Detroit snagged a quality player in the second round.

Alas, he has hardly adjusted to the men's game.

In 129 professional games - in the SHL and Allsvenskan - Niederbach has just 43 points. During the 2022 World Junior Championship, he scored 4 points in 7 games with 29 PIMs.

I'm not counting him out just yet, given he is still just 20 years old. But no doubt Detroit would like to see more offense and less goon-ish behavior out of their 2nd round pick.
