According to ESPN insider Kevin Weekes, there is a good chance that National Hockey League will be returning to Sweden for the 2023 edition of the Global Series.

"Although not final & situation remains fluid ,I'm told there's a good chance that Sweden could be included as one of the host countries for @NHL Global Series games next season." Weekes said in a tweet on Friday.

The last time the National Hockey League held games in Sweden was during the 2019 Global Series when the Buffalo Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning played a pair of games at Avicii Arena in Stockholm.

It's unclear what teams could be featuring in these games, but it's likely it will be two teams with prominent Swedish players on their roster. Possibly the New York Rangers (Mika Zibanejad), Nashville Predators (Filip Forsberg), Toronto Maple Leafs (William Nylander) or Vancouver Canucks (Elias Pettersson), just to name a few teams.
