The Montreal Canadiens were in Denver on Wednesday to take on the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche. Despite a terrific effort from goaltender Jake Allen, the Canadiens lost the game in overtime, 2-1.

After the game, the Canadiens were supposed to travel to Dallas in preparation for Friday's game, but due to weather, the team remained in Denver and canceled Thursday's practice.
Another attempt to leave Denver on Thursday went south as according to RDS' Luc Gelinas, the team is still at their hotel as of 1:30 p.m. ET due to mechanical issues with their charter plane.
"Unable to leave Denver for Dallas yesterday after the game, the @CanadiensMTL are still at their hotel in Colorado. A mechanical problem prevents the club's charter plane from taking off. #RDS" Gelinas said on Twitter through Google translate.

The other issue for the Canadiens is the incoming winter storm in Ontario and Quebec. They were supposed to head home to Montreal after Friday's game to be with their families and friends for Christmas and the holiday break, but because of the storm, they aren't sure if they will be able to get home.
While Friday's game is still expected to go ahead as of Thursday afternoon, the Canadiens remain in discussions with the NHL, Gelinas mentioned, likely to see if the game could be postponed.
Puck drop for Friday's game in Dallas is set for 8 p.m. ET and can be viewed on TSN2 and RDS.
UPDATE: According to Sportsnet's Eric Engels, the Canadiens have arrived in Dallas.
