Following Wednesday's announcement that the NHL was postponing Friday's game between the Buffalo Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning due to an incoming winter storm, the league has decided to move a second game as well.

On Thursday, the National Hockey League announced that Friday's game between the Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators in Canada's capital is postponed due to the storm. The game has been rescheduled to Monday, February 27th at 7 p.m. ET.

The incoming winter storm has already prompted watches and warnings across the province of Ontario as well as New York state, Quebec, the Maritimes, along with several other states in the U.S. Blizzard conditions are expected Friday and into Saturday for a wide-ranging area and Ottawa is no exception with wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h, freezing rain and 15cm or more of snow.
