Leetch, Zetterberg, Huet among 2023 inductees into IIHF Hall of Fame

The International Ice Hockey Federation announced on Friday the inductees for their Hall of Fame in 2023.

Among the inductees are: Former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Cristobal Huet (France), former New York Rangers defenceman Brian Leetch (USA), former Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg (Sweden). Former Canadian National Women's Team forward Caroline Ouellette is also apart of the 2023 IIHF Hall of Fame class.

Huet, 47, appeared in one Olympics for France in 1998 and also played in 15 World Championships (top division and Division 1).

Leetch, 54, played for the United States on several occasions including three Olympic Games (1988, 1998, 2002).

Zetterberg, 42, has the most success on the international stage compared to Huet and Leetch. He's won an Olympic gold medal, Olympic silver medal, World Championship gold, World Championship silver and two World Championship bronze medals.

The other members of the 2023 class being inducted are Jimmy Foster (Great Britain), Sandra Dombrowski (Switzerland) and Kalervo Kummola (Finland).

Meanwhile, Viktor Szelig (Hungary) has been named the winner of the Torriani Award, which is given annually to a player with an "outstanding career from non-top hockey nation". Finland's Kimmo Leinonen was announced as the winner of the Loicq Award, which is given to a person who's made outstanding contributions to the IIHF and Ice Hockey in general.
