It's been nearly five seasons since David Booth has appeared in an NHL game when he spent the 2017-18 campaign with the Detroit Red Wings. Since then, he's spent time in the KHL and Norway, but also took the 2020-21 season off.

After becoming a free agent in the summer, it was unclear what would come next for Booth, who turned 38 a couple of weeks ago. But now, Booth has found a new team.

Storhamar Ishockey, a team in Norway's top division, Fjordkraftligaen, announced on Friday that they've signed Booth for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

"David Booth has shown that he is a class player in the Fjordkraftligaen, and is, when he is in a good mood, an attack alone with his speed, raw power and shot. We are very happy that he wants to help us achieve our goal of winning the last game of the season and lifting the King's Cup," Storhamar said in a statement.

They went on to add that Booth will wear the number 46 and arrive in Norway between December 16th and 18th, with the hope he can appear in a game for them as soon as possible.

Booth spent parts of 10 seasons in the National Hockey League with the Florida Panthers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings. In 530 games, he had 236 points (124 goals, 112 assists), 216 penalty minutes and was a minus-31.
