According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Anaheim Ducks have claimed 32-year-old forward Jayson Megna off waivers from the Colorado Avalanche.

Megna, a native of Fort Lauderdale (Florida), is in the final year of two-year contract he signed with the Avalanche in June 2021 and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the current season.

In 14 games for Colorado this season, Megna had no points, two penalty minutes and was a minus-two. Meanwhile, he had a pretty good stint with Colorado's AHL affiliate this season, recording six points (three goals, three assists) in nine games.

Friedman also added that Colorado Avalanche forward and 2012 third overall pick Alex Galchenyuk has cleared waivers. Given Colorado's injury issues on forward, it's unclear if Galchenyuk will remain with the Avalanche or be assigned to their AHL affiliate.

For December 6th, Evgeni Svechnikov (San Jose) and Dominic Toninato (Winnipeg) have been place on the waiver wire with the purpose of being assigned to the American Hockey League.

Svechnikov, 26, has appeared in 20 games for the San Jose Sharks this season, recording six points (three goals, three assists), six penalty minutes and is a plus-one.

Toninato, 28, has only played in four games this season for the Jets, putting up one assist, two penalty minutes and is a plus-one.
