The Utah Hockey Club had a historic night on Tuesday, and in the process, they started throwing jabs at their brand new Central Division rival Chicago Blackhawks.

2024/25 is set up to be a historic season for the NHL, and on Tuesday history was made as the Utah Hockey Club picked up their first ever victory, dominating the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 on the night. It was a fantastic game for the Utah team, whose fans were behind the team the whole way as young star Dylan Guenther and captain Clayton Keller both got on the board in what was a huge occasion for the league.

Despite being the NHL's newest team however, Utah HC weren't shy about throwing jabs at their opponent, with the Delta Center kicking off what could be a great Central Division rivalry against the Chicago Blackhawks with a fantastic troll. Reportedly, the WiFi at the arena has been named 'Jordan pushed off', which is a reference to the 1997 NBA Finals between Utah and Chicago, where many believe that NBA icon Michael Jordan pushed off before hitting a series clinching shot against the Utah Jazz.

This appears to happen every time that the Jazz play the Bulls at the Delta Center, but now the NHL team are getting in on the fun, and after a dominant 5-2 victory, they have all the bragging rights over their division rival. It's unclear if the Delta Center will continue with this against other teams, or if its a simply tradition that the NBA team use and will continue to use, but with so much feeling in NHL rivalries, it's a great way to get teams fired up to come and play in their building.
