Through its first 19 games of the regular season, the Boston Bruins own a superb 17-2-0 record. That could improve even further on Monday night, as they are set to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Few, if any, saw this start coming for the Bruins, a team which was held without two of its best players in Charlie McAvoy and Brad Marchand in the early going. They have since welcomed both back, though they are far from the only reason their team is having success. As Nick Foligno recently explained to reporters, there is truly something different about this team compared to years past.

«This feels different, I'll say that,» Foligno said to NHL.com's Amalie Benjamin. «The depth. The focus. We're a confident but not cocky group. I think sometimes your habits really slip when you go through that. I know in Columbus, it kind of did. We were just winning, and some games we didn't deserve to win, but we were on a roll, and we were feeling good – you just catch lightning in a bottle. Here, it's a little different.»

A potentially big reason for the Bruins success has to do with head coach Jim Montgomery, who it seems the players love playing for. There had been several reports stating that the locker room had grown tired of Bruce Cassidy, and that certainly appears to be the case given how well they are clicking at the moment. The same can be said for Foligno, who has 11 points in 19 games after managing just 13 in 64 a season ago.
