Its been known for a few weeks now that the Ottawa Senators are for sale, with Sportico valuing them at $655 million, although the price tag is expected to be much higher than that.

Several people have expressed interest in purchasing a stake in the franchise, including 'Deadpool' star Ryan Reynolds and a pair of OHL owners, Michael Andlauer and Rocco Tullio.

During Monday's '32 Thoughts Podcast', Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman suggested one name that could get involved with the sale of the Ottawa Senators, although unlikely, is four-time Grammy Award winner, The Weeknd.

"But I've heard there's the potential to be more. And Ron (MacLean) made the joke and a couple people started texting me -- like, are you hinting that The Weeknd could buy into the Ottawa Senators?" I don't know that that's going to happen." Friedman said.

He added, "But, you know, the one thing about him, he's from Scarborough. He has some representation that has tie-ins to Ottawa. At least two of his representatives -- well, they were born overseas and moved to Canada and have connections to Ottawa. So, you know, we'll see, Jeff. I don't know that it's true, I don't know that it isn't. But that rumour is out there."

The Weeknd is known for several hit songs, including 'Blinding Lights', 'Starboy', 'Save Your Tears', 'Heartless', among others.
