On Friday's edition of 32 Thoughts - the Podcast, Elliotte Friedman suggested that the Vancouver Canucks would listen to offers on nearly every player on the roster. The Canucks' start this season can be described only as atrocious.

Despite making 'win-now' moves this summer, the Canucks are 5-9-3 and sit one win out of dead last in the NHL; only Anaheim has done worse so far. As such, GM Patrik Allvin is reportedly listening to offers on all players except for Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes.
"I think he's listening to everything, I think their only untouchables are Pettersson and Hughes, I think everybody else he'll listen to."

Friedman did clarify that Thatcher Demko would require a massive offer but maintains that Hughes and Pettersson are the only two untouchables. With a loaded draft on the way, Allvin and President Jim Rutherford would be wise to increase their chances at the #1 overall pick by trading players out for other first-round picks.
He also said he heard rumors that - if Bo Horvat gets traded - Columbus has been in the mix. They need a center, and Horvat could price himself out for Vancouver if he continues scoring goals at his current pace.
On Demko, Friedman said: "that's an interesting one. He's had a really tough start to the year, I still think it would take a ton to move him. Unless the Canucks think - for some reason - that his health won't recover. But that's a crazy bet to make. I do think Rutherford's listening to a lot of stuff out there."
The last bit of business is that - while Vancouver's only untouchables are Petterson and Hughes - several players have control over their situations. Oliver Ekman-Larsson has a full no-move clause. Tyler Myers has a 10-team no-trade clause and Ilya Mikheyev has a 12-team no-trade.
Vancouver has lots of bloated contracts, which could make certain trades difficult to pull off. However, given their situation, some discomfort could be the cost of doing business to give them the chance to reset their hockey club.
