After spending the 2021-22 season in the KHL, 34-year-old forward Artem Anisimov returned to North America this fall and signed a PTO with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Unfortunately, he suffered a broken bone in his foot during a pre-season game against Boston on September 24th and has been unable to play since.

On Tuesday, the Flyers American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have signed Anisimov to professional try-out contract (PTO) and there's a chance, if he gets a few good practices in, that he could feature their line-up this weekend when they open up a four-game road trip.

The Yaroslavl (Russia) native has spent parts of 13 seasons in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators. In 771 regular season games, Anisimov has 376 points (180 goals, 196 assists) and 214 penalty minutes.
