Montreal Canadiens rookie forward Juraj Slafkovsky will return to the line-up on Tuesday after serving a two game suspension for hitting Detroit Red Wings forward Matt Luff from behind.
Slafkovsky was ejected from November 8th's game in the third period after being given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding. Meanwhile Luff was deemed out eight-to-ten weeks after he underwent surgery on his wrist.
During his post-practice media scrum on Monday, Slafkovsky told reporters that he reached out to Luff to apologize, with the Red Wings forward texting him back and thanking him for the apology.
Slafkovsky and the Canadiens will look to extend their winning streak to four games on Tuesday night when they host the red-hot New Jersey Devils, who currently sport a nine-game winning streak. The Canadiens will be debuting their new Expos-inspired Reverse Retro jerseys tonight, with puck drop at the Bell Centre set for 7 p.m. ET.
