Calgary Flames bench boss Darryl Sutter wasn't too pleased with Jonathan Huberdeau following Monday's tilt with the Seattle Kraken and made that clear with reporters post-game.

"Jonathan has gotta speed up his game, that's for sure" Sutter said following Tuesday's loss to Seattle.

After being called out, Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau told reporters that he knows he can be way better than what he's shown thus far.

"I've still got a lot of work to do. I mean, obviously, it hasn't been easy for me at the beginning of the year. I'm way better than what I am right now," Huberdeau said.

He added, "You guys haven't seen anything yet. I'm not happy with myself right now."

After a career-high 115 points last season, Huberdeau's start to this campaign has been fairly mediocre. In eight games, he's put up five points (one goal, four assists), two penalty minutes and is a minus-one.

It's still really early on in the new season and there's no doubt Huberdeau has the skill to get things done and another 100-point season isn't out of the question, barring any injury, etc.

The Flames will look to snap a two-game losing streak on Thursday night when they host the Nashville Predators at 9 p.m. ET.
