After missing all of training camp and the regular season thus far, Montreal Canadiens defenceman Joel Edmundson will make his 2022-23 debut on Thursday night against the Winnipeg Jets.

Edmundson, 29, has been out of the lineup with a lower-body injury he suffered during an informal skate before training camp after colliding with Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki.
The Brandon (Manitoba) native was limited to only 24 games during the 2021-22 season due to a similar injury and he went on to put up six points (three goals, three assists), 35 penalty minutes and was a minus-one.
Canadiens Head Coach Martin St. Louis had Edmundson on the second d-pairing at the morning skate on Thursday, alongside rookie Arber Xhekaj. With Edmundson coming into the line-up, Chris Wideman is expected to be the odd man out, as he skated as the seventh defenceman.
Puck drop for Montreal's game in Winnipeg is set for 8 p.m. ET and can be viewed on TSN2 and RDS.
