The Ottawa Senators are reportedly going to be put up for sale, according to Sportico.

In their annual NHL franchise value article on Tuesday, Sportico reported that the Senators board of directors have already interviewed sell-side bankers and that there is a lot of interest in the team.

Those sell-side bankers would work as intermediaries to help solicit bids for the franchise, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen said.

Following the passing of owner Eugene Melnyk earlier this year, the team was left to his daughters, but is being run day-to-day by Anthony Leblanc, President of Business Operations and Erin Crowe, Ottawa's Chief Financial Officer.

The Senators are currently valued at $655 million USD by Sportico (a 21% raise from 2021), but it's expected that they will sell for much more than that.
