If you haven't been watching, the Buffalo Sabres' stock is rising; fast.

They routed the Detroit Red Wings last night, as they chug along through a triumphant opening to the 2022-23 season. Tage Thompson stole the show, but rookie Jack Quinn was also front and center. Quinn scored a goal, put up three shots, and one massive hit on Detroit's Lucas Raymond in 13:32 of ice-time.

After scoring 61 points in 45 AHL games in '21-22, Quinn's NHL production hasn't jumped off the page just yet. But that doesn't mean he hasn't been noticeable. Yeah, I just input a double-negative, sue me.

This goal was an absolute snipe off of a beautiful dish from Tage Thompson. In the moment, I think Quinn was the only guy on the ice who knew it went in.

In addition to scoring a big goal, Quinn absolutely leveled Red Wings' star Lucas Raymond shortly after. Talk about making your presence felt.

According to Byron Bader of Hockey Prospecting, Buffalo has the third-ranked prospect-skater group in the NHL, and Quinn is a huge reason why. On the slip side, though, they have the 25-ranked goaltending prospect unit. Thank goodness for Craig Anderson and Eric Comrie.
