Anton Strålman has yet to play a game for the Boston Bruins on U.S. soil, as he patiently waits for the necessary filings on his work visa. The 931-game NHL veteran cannot play stateside, however, he was able to make his Bruins' debut in the Canadian capital Tuesday night in the team's 7-5 defeat to the Ottawa Senators.

«Stralman is playing tonight. I think it's basically that we're in Canada and not in the United States, so he can play,» said Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery. «Donnie informed me last night on the plane. He's a seasoned vet who is going to manage the game and manage the puck really well, and defend hard.»

Stralman's strong play in Boston's training camp earned him a contract after settling for a professional tryout. It has been quite the up & down couple of seasons for Stralman. He went from the talented Florida Panthers' group, to the destitute Arizona Coyotes, and now to a powerhouse Bruins' team.

Hopefully, Strålman's visa delays do not last much longer. Boston plays solely in the United States until they visit Toronto on Saturday November 5; seven games that Strålman could miss, should they persist. And with all the injuries facing the Bruins, they need all the quality blue-liners they can get.
