John Quenneville, a Canadian and former NHLer who now plays for Leksands of the Swedish Hockey League, is making it very clear that he's not happy with a suspension from the SHL for abuse of an official. Quenneville was involved in a game against Vaxjo last Saturday where he shoved an official. It definitely wasn't much, but the SHL as a zero-tolerance policy for laying hands on officials, and he received a one-game suspension for it. Check it out:

Quenneville's next game was supposed to be against his younger brother David, who plays for Oskarshamn. However, Quenneville will have to sit that game out, and he's pissed about it.

"What happened there is a f---ing joke. It's as if the disciplinary committee is trying to convince people that what happened there was a fight or an assault," Quenneville told Falu-Kuriren.

He said he considers the SHL to be the second best league in the world and he loves playing there. However, he said the SHL's disciplinary committee is going too far.

"They are a disgrace to the entire league, unfortunately. They're hypocrites."

"They are a group of people who sit so far away from the sport and the ice. They have decided that they want to fundamentally change the sport and that is very worrying," said Quenneville.

The Quenneville brothers will now have to wait until December 3rd to square-off in the SHL. They are the first cousins of former NHL coach John Quenneville, while Johnny Boychuk is their uncle by marriage.
