After holding out and not joining the team for training camp, restricted free agent defenceman Nic Hague has agreed to terms on a three-year contract worth $6,882,450 ($2,294,150 AAV) with the Vegas Golden Knights.

While in his hold out, Hague returned home and was skating with the Ontario Hockey League's Kitchener Rangers in order to stay in shape, with the hopes of signing a new deal with Vegas.

Hague, 23, appeared in 52 games with the Golden Knights during the 2021-22 season, tallying 14 points (four goals, 10 assists), 38 penalty minutes and was a plus-six.

It's unclear if Hague will be in the lineup for Vegas' season opener on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Kings. They will probably want him to get a few practices in before returning to the Golden Knights lineup.
