John Tortorella's return is great for me, personally, because he is a gold mine when it comes to juicy hockey content. He tells it like it is with little to no WD-40, he just grips it and rips it, no filter.

He wasn't coy today when talking about the status of the Flyers at this point of their training camp, and he just gave it to them. Tortorella said the coaching staff is 'spoon feeding' the players information to get them up to speed by opening night.

The veteran coach would later add that -- in his learned opinion -- athletes these days have the attention span of a single-cell organism; which is not long.

Torts' history of being intensely critical of young players has not evaded him in his latest stop. The other day, the Flyers demoted their prized defensive prospect, Cam York, to the AHL in one of the team's first round of cuts.

Thankfully, he cleared up his stance even further with the above quote, in case there were any out there who may have forgotten.
