Some tough news for Chicago Blackhawks' prospect Colton Dach. The 19-year-old has been placed in concussion protocol following a rookie showcase game against the prospects of the Minnesota Wild.

It's not exactly clear what happened to cause Dach to leave the game. Here's video of his last shift, which took place late in the first period of the game. It's doesn't appear to show anything out of the ordinary.

That said, Roumeliotis is reporting that Dach is in concussion protocol. It's difficult to say how long he'll be there. It all depends on the symptoms, past history, age, etc.

Dach is the brother of Kirby Dach, who was also drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks but recently traded to and re-signed by the Montreal Canadiens. Colton, who was drafted in the 2nd round (62nd overall) in 2020, had 70 points (29G, 50A) in 61 games with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL in 2021-22. He was on the Blackhawks' top line at left wing in the game in which he was injured.
