The Colorado Avalanche announced on Wednesday afternoon that they have signed forward Anton Blidh to a one-year contract for the 2022-23 season.

Blidh, 27, has spent the past seven seasons playing in the Boston Bruins organization, usually in a depth role that has seen him bounce between the NHL and American Hockey League (AHL). This past season, he was able to suit up for a career high 32 NHL games, in which he scored two goals and nine points while averaging just under 11 minutes in ice time per game.

His new deal with the Avalanche is a two-way contract, one that will pay him $750,000 at the NHL level and $350,000 in the AHL. Given how stacked the Avs roster is, one would figure he will be used in a similar role to what he was given with the Bruins, meaning he may start the 2022-23 campaign with the Colorado Eagles but be a top candidate to receive a call up if injuries occur.
