Dmitrij Jaskin leaves the NHL again

After just one season back in North America, Dmitrij Jaskin has decided to leave again. According to his agent, Jaskin had options to remain the NHL, but decided to return home to Russia, signing a deal with SKA St. Petersburg.

After doing a two season stint in the KHL from 2019 to 2021, Jaskin signed a one-year deal with Arizona for last season. However, after just 12 games, an ankle injury knocked him out of action for the rest of the year.

Jaskin was initially drafted in the second-round (41st overall) by the St. Louis Blues in 2011. That's where he has spent the majority of his 300+ regular season games career. In 2018, he was claimed off waivers by the Washington Capitals and played 37 games for the team before heading to the KHL for the first time. In 2020-21, Jaskin was the KHL's leading scorer with 38 goals in 52 games. He added 22 assists for a total of 60 points.

Jaskin's rights had to be traded from Dynamo Moscow to SKA in order for him to sign with the team.
