After a brief stint in the National Hockey League towards the end of the 2021-22 season, Olympic gold medalist Harri Säteri is heading back to Europe, according to Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.

"Per his agent, Todd Diamond, G Harri Säteri had a deadline of today for a contract offer in the Swiss league so he has signed a 1-year deal to play with EHC Biel-Bienne next season," Morgan said.

Säteri, 32, appeared in six games with the Arizona Coyotes during the latter stages of the 2021-22 season. He was signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs, but in order to join them, he needed to clear waivers. That didn't happen, and the Arizona Coyotes claimed him the next day. In six games with Arizona, Säteri had a 2-2-1 record, along with a 4.22 GAA, and an .866 save percentage.

Prior to coming back over to North America, Säteri spent the 2021-22 season in the KHL with HC Sibir Novosibirsk, where he's been for the previous three years.

The Toijala (Finland) native represented his country at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, helping them win their first-ever Olympic gold medal. In five games in Beijing, Säteri had five wins, a 1.00 GAA, a .962 save percentage and one shutout.
