This year's free agent class is loaded with big names including Evgeni Malkin, Johnny Gaudreau, Claude Giroux, Nazem Kadri, among others. But who are some players that are a bit under the radar and may end up being an extremely valuable signing?

Let's take a look at five under the radar free agents your favourite team should sign.

1)Nino Niederreiter. Previous team: Carolina Hurricanes.

Niederreiter, 29, is coming off the fifth 20+ goal season of his career after scoring 24 in 75 games during the 2021-22 campaign. The Chur (Switzerland) native would be a good fit on the second or third line of team looking for some depth scoring.

2)Max Domi. Previous team: Carolina Hurricanes.

Max Domi provided a bit of a spark with the Hurricanes when acquired at the trade deadline, but the offence Carolina hoped they would get out of him was lacking. The 27-year-old would be a perfect fit as a team's third line center, with a potential match being his dad's former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

3)Dylan Strome. Previous team: Chicago Blackhawks.

As a former third overall pick, Dylan Strome hasn't panned out as many expected, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be a good reclaim project for a young, rebuilding team. Chicago told Strome he wouldn't be offered a qualifying offer by Monday's deadline and will become an unrestricted free agent at noon ET on Wednesday.

4)Calle Jarnkrok. Previous team: Calgary Flames.

Jarnkrok had a poor showing with the Calgary Flames after being acquired by them just before the trade deadline. In 17 regular season games, he only had four assists and followed that up with four points in twelve playoff games. Prior to the trade, Jarnkrok had 26 points in 49 games with the Seattle Kraken. Expect Jarnkrok to bounce back and return to his form during his time with Seattle and Nashville before then.

5)Ilya Mikheyev. Previous team: Toronto Maple Leafs.

After a career-high 32 points and 21 goals in 53 games this season, Ilya Mikheyev is set to hit the open market this week, with a return to Toronto seeming unlikely at this point, despite the Maple Leafs clearing cap space in the Petr Mrazek trade. Much like the other names on this list, Mikheyev will provide some depth scoring and could play a top-six role, depending on the team's situation.

The National Hockey League's free agency period gets underway at 12 p.m. ET on July 13th.
