Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson has been the subject of plenty of trade rumors over the past couple of seasons, and it seems that when any star player becomes available the Toronto Maple Leafs are connected to them at some point.

Leafs insider Lance Hornby suggested that the team could look into acquiring Gibson for what could be a hefty price. His idea is that a one-for-one deal sending forward William Nylander to Anaheim for Gibson could get the job done. This would be a monumental move that would likely shake up the league quite a bit.

It seems that Leafs fans would probably be about 50/50 on this move if it ever happened. Although, it seems that Gibson to the Leafs may be a little less likely now. Gibson's agent Kurt Overhardt had a response to his client's trade speculation.

"John Gibson has absolutely no interest in playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, he is committed to the Anaheim Ducks."

The Leafs will still be in the goalie market nonetheless, but John Gibson is more than likely not on their board any longer.
