It seems some hurt feelings are being made worse in Minnesota. The Wild announced on Thursday that the team had signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury for another two seasons, and the team's number one netminder from last season is apparently not too pleased.

Cam Talbot played 49 games for the Wild last season. However, in the playoffs, he lost the starter position to Fleury, who was acquired at the deadline. Talbot would play just one game in the post season, the one that led to the Wild being eliminated in the first round. There were rumblings at that time that Talbot was not happy, feeling that he had been hung out to dry. According to his agent, that feeling has returned with Fleury's re-signing.

"Cam Talbot's agent George Bazos met with Wild GM Bill Guerin during the third round [of the NHL draft] here," said TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

"We both stated our positions,'' Bazos told LeBrun. "Billy [Guerin] has a lot to think about."

"As I reported, Cam Talbot said after the season he doesn't want to be traded. But there clearly were hurt feelings and this thing is coming to a head," said Minnesota reporter Michael Russo.

"Guerin met with Bazos and isn't pleased. Guerin also can't call Talbot because of phone outage in [Montreal]."

Talbot had excellent stats leading into the playoffs last season and likely expected the situation to be more of a 1A-1B type of deal rather than Fleury getting all the starts until the end. How this gets rectified is anyone's guess. The most likely scenario is Talbot getting traded, unless things can be worked out between him and Guerin. Talbot has one season left on his current contract.
