After receiving permission to talk with other teams about a trade and contract extension, the Carolina Hurricanes have dealt defenceman Tony DeAngelo and a seventh round pick to the Philadelphia Flyers and a second round pick in 2024, a third round pick in 2023 and a fourth round pick in 2022.

DeAngelo was set to become a restricted free agent, but according to Chris Johnston of TSN, the Flyers have signed 26-year-old to a two-year contract worth $10 million ($5 million).

The Sewell (New Jersey) native is now in the fifth NHL organization of his young career. In 64 games this season, DeAngelo had 51 points (ten goals, 41 assists), 56 penalty minutes and was a plus-30. He went on to add ten points in 14 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
