The Nashville Predators announced on Friday that they've traded forward Luke Kunin to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for John Leonard and a 2023 third round pick.

Kunin, 24, was originally a first round pick of the Minnesota Wild in 2016. He was dealt to the Predators in a trade that saw Nick Bonino go to Minnesota.

In 82 games this season for Nashville, Kunin put up 22 points (thirteen goals, nine assists), 99 penalty minutes and was a minus-eleven. He added one assist and four penalty minutes in four games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

As for Leonard, 23, he was taken by the Sharks in the sixth round in 2018 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2021-22 season, he spent time with the Sharks and their AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.

In fourteen games with the Sharks, Leonard had two points (one goal, one assist), while in 45 games in the AHL, he recorded 32 points (seventeen goals, fifteen assists).
