According to Eben Novy-Williams of Sportico, the Nashville Predators are in the process of being sold to former Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, who's brother is current owner of the NFL's Cleveland Browns.

Details regarding the deal are not yet known, but Sportico currently values the Nashville Predators at $680 million, good enough for 26th among the 32 National Hockey League franchises. Meanwhile, Bill Haslam has a net worth of $2.3 billion according to Forbes.

The Predators were bought in 2007 by a group including healthcare entrepreneur Herbert Fritch from previous owner Craig Leipold. Fritch was among a few vying to buy the team in 2007 including former Blackberry CEO Jim Balsillie, who had a deal in place to purchase the team but it fell through after it was found he was selling season tickets in Hamilton (Ontario) with plans to move the team there.

Nashville entered the NHL as an expansion franchise in 1998 and have had recent success, reaching the Stanley Cup Final in 2017 and qualifying for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each of the last eight seasons.
