Brandon Dubinsky played under John Tortorella seemingly more than he didn't over his career. Dubinsky understands what it's like to play under his demanding style as well as anyone. And today, following the news of his contract of employment with the Philadelphia Flyers, he offered his sympathies to the Flyers' players:

This might seem like a shot at John Tortorella, but it is all in good fun. Dubinsky has spoken at length about his admiration of his longtime coach & the value he brings any team he is a part of. Even so, it's not exactly G4 Classified that Tortorella's style of coaching can wear on certain players.

That very fact will probably make the Flyers a better team in the long run, as they've put together a couple of mediocre seasons as of late. His acumen of fielding competitive teams is well documented. His 673-541-132 record is good for a 54.8% point percentage over his career, and he has succeeded in making the playoffs in 12 of his 20 seasons behind an NHL bench. Not to say he will sort the Flyers situation out all on his own because that is unlikely. They have some serious, deep seeded troubles that typically do not sort themselves out naturally. Plus there are rumors that Chuck Fletcher's job security might be in question, though nothing concrete has been verified on that front.
