The NHL's 2022 Entry Draft is just over a month away and despite the league saying they won't ban Russian eligible players, a pair of teams will reportedly pass over them in July.

According to Ivan Bohun of Sport-Express, the Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers are reportedly the two teams that won't select Russian players on July 7th and 8th. Bohun added that there are also a couple of unnamed teams that may go in that direction as well.

Note: the following is translated from Russian.

"According to unofficial information, Philadelphia, Montreal and a couple of unnamed NHL clubs are not going to choose the Russians in the next draft under any circumstances.

However, most of the clubs are still loyal to our guys and are not going to give their scouting departments any restrictive directives." Bohun said.

Since this news came out, Montreal Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes was asked about the report and he said it was false, adding that he had an interview with a Russian player on Tuesday. The Philadelphia Flyers have yet to comment on the report.

At least four Russian prospects are projected to go in the first round at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft in Montreal. Those players are: Danila Yurov, Ivan Miroshnichenko, Pavel Mintyukov and Alexander Perevalov.
