The Ottawa Senators seem to be growing a more family-like culture with their new arrivals. Brady Tkachuk was named captain of the team this season, and he is making sure to take both the youngsters and veterans under his wing.

Nick Holden recently talked to Sportsnet's Kyle Bukauskas about the kind of person that Brady Tkachuk is. Last Saturday, Holden's kids were playing youth hockey, and their so-called babysitter Brady Tkachuk wanted to come and watch the kids play. On top of this, he also brought star defenseman Thomas Chabot, as well as newly signed top prospect Jake Sanderson. Holden said that Tkachuk acted as though he was at his favorite hockey team's game, making sure to bring energy to the crowd.

«He was right into it yelling and cheering the kids on.»

This isn't the only captain-like act that Tkachuk has done recently. The 22-year-old is also letting Sanderson crash at his place for the time-being as he gets settled in to Ottawa. Sanderson will be a great addition to the team once he is healthy, but he is currently nursing a hand injury that happened before signing with the Sens.
