Some sad news to report on Monday. According to multiple reports, New York Islanders legend and Hockey Hall of Famer Mike Bossy has entered palliative care for his fight with lung cancer.

According to The Hockey News, several reports have stated that Bossy's condition has worsened over the last few months, after the 65-year-old announced the diagnosis in an open letter back in October.

Bossy was one of the greatest goal scorers in the late-1970s and 1980s, putting up 50+ goals in nine of his ten seasons in the National Hockey League. He won the Stanley Cup four times during his career and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1991.

Our thoughts are with Mike and his family at this difficult time.
