Earlier this week, the Orlando Solar Bears of the East Coast Hockey League announced that they have signed former NHL pest Sean Avery to a standard player contract.

Since that was announced, Former NHLer Matthew Barnaby said that he wanted to sign in the same division as Avery in the ECHL so he could play against him.

"If Avery signs in Orlando I will sign with anyone in that division...You can play me as much as Torts did," Barnaby said.

Now another player wants the chance to play against Sean Avery, that being former NHL enforcer Georges Laraque. Laraque took to Twitter on Thursday asking for an ECHL team to sign him for one game just so he can fight Avery.

"I'm going to make a wish! Can a team in the @ECHL sign me for at least one game against Sean Avery please lol," Laraque said.

The Florida Everblades responded by saying, "You free on Saturday, March 12th for a 7:00pm game against @OrlandoHockey?"

Laraque has been wanting to fight Sean Avery for quite a while and it likely goes back to an incident during a game in October 2005. In that game just over 16 years ago, Laraque claimed that Avery called him a racial slur, but the NHL didn't have enough evidence to fine or suspend Avery.

The 45-year-old Montreal native spent parts of twelve seasons in the National Hockey League playing for Edmonton, Phoenix (now Arizona), Pittsburgh and Montreal. In 695 regular season games, Laraque tallied 1,126 penalty minutes and had 131 career fights.
