Following an impressive showing at training camp, the New York Rangers have made a decision regarding their top prospect, Brennan Othmann, in preparation for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

Othmann impressed during his pre-season run

Despite the 20-year-old Othmann's strong efforts during the preseason, the Rangers have chosen to reassign him, opting for a stint with the Hartford Wolf Pack to continue honing his skills. This move allows Othmann to further adapt to the demands of professional hockey before a potential call-up to the NHL, which appears likely at some point during the 2023-24 season.
During his five preseason appearances with the Rangers, the native of Pickering, Ontario, demonstrated promise both on and off the puck. He managed to net two goals and recorded five shots on goal, showcasing his potential to make a significant impact in the future.

Rangers have high expectations again this year

The New York Rangers are set to kick off their 2023-24 season against the Buffalo Sabres in less than a week. They will be expecting to be a playoff contender, but Othmann can expect to be a consistent call up from the AHL level throughout the season.
