While everybody knows southern markets are non traditional markets, they also have some non traditional qualities that make the game harder.

Robertson Shares Ugly Truth Of Playing in Southern Markets

While the final four NHL teams this season are all southern markets (Vegas, Dallas, Carolina, and Florida) they all share one common quirk which NHL players aren't a fan of.

Jason Robertson revealed what this quirk is:

«It's 95 degrees outside. They're trying their best to have the best ice possible. We're professionals and in the NHL. We should be able to skate on any ice.»

This was in response to the ice in game one of the Western Conference Finals having very poor ice conditions.

While the ice will be better during the winter, now that it is playoff season and getting warmer and warmer, it is resulting there being more of an environment factor.

Like Robertson said, these are professionals and no matter the conditions, they should be able to play through it.
