Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will be a hot commodity leading up to the National Hockey League's trade deadline on Monday, March 21st.

One team that has expressed strong interest in Fleury is the Washington Capitals, but the 37-year-old is reportedly not too keen on playing for a rival of his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Fleury's other former team, the Vegas Golden Knights, who he led to the 2018 Stanley Cup Final, has interest in bringing him back to the team with Robin Lehner injured according to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff.

"Team sources say the Golden Knights have expressed interest in a potential reunion with goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury," Seravalli said.

Sources have also told Seravalli that Lehner has a torn labrum in his shoulder that will require surgery at some point. He had a procedure on the same shoulder in Fall of 2020.

With Vegas battling for first place in the Pacific division, a spot they currently occupy with 59 points, having Laurent Brossoit and Logan Thompson as their goaltending tandem while Lehner is out is not an ideal situation.

Update: Vegas Golden Knights' GM denies Fleury rumours

Seravalli mentioned that another netminder they have interest in is Alexandar Gorgiev of the New York Rangers.

"First, Fleury is not alone on a list of potential targets. Per sources, the Golden Knights have also expressed interest in New York Rangers backup Alexandar Georgiev, who we previously reported let it be known that Georgiev feels he's ready for a bigger opportunity elsewhere. There are likely others."

Before any move happens, the Golden Knights will need to evaluate Robin Lehner's injury. If he's out for a lengthy period of time, then a move will need to be made.
