It looks like the Edmonton Oilers have finally had enough of head coach Dave Tippett. Following another loss Wednesday night, 4-1 to the Chicago Blackhawks, TSN's Darren Dreger is reporting that Tippett has been fired, along with associate coach Jim Playfair.

Dreger is also reporting that Jay Woodcroft and Dave Manson of the Bakersfield Condors are taking over behind the bench.

Tippett was named head coach of the Oilers in May of 2019. The 2021-22 season has been a very disappointing one for the team and it appears GM Ken Holland finally decided something had to change. Edmonton has lost 16 of their last 23 games.
