According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Vancouver Canucks are going to announce on Thursday that Cammi Granato will be joining the team as one of their Assistant General Managers.

Granato, 50, has been a member of the Seattle Kraken's scouting staff since 2019 and helped them build their roster that has been on the ice for their inagural season.

The Downers Grove, Illinois native will join forces with Émilie Castonguay, who was also hired as Assistant General Manager in late-January.

Granato is one of the most decorated female American athletes of all-time, winning a gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics, silver medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics as well as countless silver medals at the IIHF Women's World Championships, including gold in 2005.

For her efforts on the ice, Granato was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010. Granato and Angela James were the first two women to ever be inducted into the Hall.
