Some sad news to report on Monday. The New Jersey Devils have announced that head coach Lindy Ruff will miss the next two games due to the passing of his father, Leeson, late last week.

"The Devils organization is thinking of Lindy, his family and all those who knew Leeson during this difficult time," the Devils said in a statement.

Assistant coach Alain Nasreddine will take over the reigns from Ruff for the next couple of games. The Devils are set to play a home-and-home series with the Toronto Maple Leafs, tonight on the road and tomorrow at the Prudential Center.

Ruff is expected to return to the bench following the All-Star break when the Devils take on the Senators on February 7th.

Our thoughts are with the Ruff family at this time.
