According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Montreal Canadiens have claimed centerman Rem Pitlick off waivers from the Minnesota Wild.

Pitlick, 24, was drafted by the Nashville Predators back in 2016 before being claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Wild in October 2021. He signed a one-year, two way contract in the off-season worth $917,831 and is set to become a restricted free agent at season's end.

In 20 games this season for the Wild, Pitlick has eleven points (six goals, five assists), twelve penalty minutes and is a plus-one.

It's unclear if Pitlick will be in Boston in time for tonight's game against the Bruins or if he'll meet Montreal in Chicago for tomorrow's tilt against the Blackhawks.
