On Sunday, Evander Kane cleared unconditional waivers and had his contract terminated by the San Jose Sharks. He reportedly traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia while he was supposed to be isolating at his home in San Jose after being placed in the AHL's COVID protocol.

Kane is now a free agent and eligible to sign with any of the other 31 teams.

His agent, Dan Milstein, says that there is a lot of interest in his client in what would likely be a one-year deal for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

"Kane's agent Dan Milstein says there's lots of interest from a number of teams for his UFA client. Would be a one-year deal for rest of the season whenever he finds a new NHL home." TSN's Pierre LeBrun said on Monday.

Kane, 30, could be a valuable piece to a contending team if he can knock off the off-ice antics. He's a seven-time 20 goal scorer, and led the Sharks in goals (22) and points (49) during the 2020-21 season.
