According to John Hoven of Mayor's Manor, the Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms on a contract extension with general manager Rob Blake. The deal is reportedly for four or five years and will be made official by the team in the coming days.

"Mayors Manor has learned via multiple sources that it will soon be announced Blake has received a multi-year contract extension – believed to be 4-5 years in length," Hoven said on Sunday night.

During an appearance on Kings of The Podcast last week, Blake was asked if there was any reason why he wouldn't continue as general manager of the Los Angeles Kings. Blake said that he likes the direction the team is heading in.

Blake responded by saying, "No. I think we're trending the right way – not only players and staff-wise, but all of it is coming together the way we want to unroll things. We want to perform better and we want to continue to push the pace. So, like I said, the relationship is good, and with the people surrounding [us here], it's a real good situation."

Blake was named general manager of the Kings in April of 2017 and has done a pretty good job trying to rebuild the team through the draft. In his tenure, the Kings have drafted Quinton Byfield, Gabriel Vilardi, Akil Thomas, Rasmus Kupari, Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Alex Turcotte, Arthur Kaliyev, Helge Grans and Brandt Clarke among others.
