The Quebec government announced on Tuesday that they are cutting the isolation period for the fully vaccinated who test positive for COVID-19 and are asymptomatic from ten days down to five.

This follows the CDC's recommendation in the United States which was then adopted by the National Hockey League on December 29th.

With the Montreal Canadiens dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak right now, this should help them get their players back quicker, with some of them having been on the NHL's protocol list for over a week now.

The Canadiens currently have all team facilities closed through January 6th due to their outbreak and it's quite likely that they will be able to return to the ice at their practice facility in Brossard on Friday morning.

Montreal's next game isn't until Wednesday, January 12th when they travel to Boston to take on their archrivals, the Bruins.
