In the last thirteen games, the Minnesota Wild have had the most crazy stretch of any team in the National Hockey League. They started off by winning eight in a row, but have since dropped five in a row including Saturday's Winter Classic. In desperate need of change, the Wild are turning to a pair of top prospects.

During a radio interview on Tuesday morning, Minnesota Wild head coach Dean Evason announced that the team is recalling top prospects Marco Rossi and Matthew Boldy from Iowa in the American Hockey League.

Evason also said that both Boldy and Rossi will make their National Hockey League debuts on Thursday night against the Boston Bruins.

Boldy, 20, was selected in the first round, twelfth overall by the Wild in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He left Boston College at conclusion of the 2020-21 season and signed his entry-level contract with the Wild. The Milford, Massachusetts native has had a rough start to his professional career, breaking his ankle in training camp followed by a lower-body injury in November. Both those injuries has limited him to just ten games this season where he's recorded ten points (four goals, six assists).

Rossi, 20, has also had a rough start to his professional career much like Boldy. Following the World Juniors last year, he missed the entire 2021 season due to complications from COVID-19 that caused Myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. He was cleared by team doctors to participate in training camp this season and has been unstoppable in the American Hockey League. In 21 games, the Feldkirch, Austria native has twenty-three points (seven goals, sixteen assists).
