Update: NHL announces several more postponements because of attendance restrictions; another moves locations

Another game has been postponed in the NHL. While there's been no official announcement from the league, Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill told reporters on Tuesday that Wednesday's game between the Wings and New York Islanders has been postponed due to COVID protocol.

Update: the official announcement has now been made.

Meanwhile, Sportsnet Insider Elliotte Friedman is warning fans in Canada that more postponements are coming.

"Hearing some Canadian teams' home games in early January will be postponed pending schedule shuffling," said Friedman. "As expected, NHL wants to protect revenues as much as possible while there are crowd limits."

Right now, the Winnipeg Jets are not allowed to have fans at the arena until at least January 11th. There is also speculation this will be the case with the Montreal Canadiens.

Friedman doesn't think Vancouver or Edmonton will have to kick any home games down the road.
